Final Poster

Capstone Presentation Experience

My booth included my info-graphic, a poster board with information, a few brochures, candy, and VHS film.
I believe my overall capstone presentation went well. My experience was good, it was interesting to see how other's projects were set up and how they choose to present their information. The hardest part was trying to figure out what to say to a point where it made sense to everyone besides yourself. Even with the note card and previous rehearsed speeches I still managed to stumble on my words and forget bits and pieces of information. The most fun part for me would have to have been setting up and trying out different ways to make my entire booth stand out and look approachable. Overall my capstone experience was well. I do believe that this journey will help me throughout the future and that it has helped me to build my knowledge on knowing how to research, finding a problem, how to look for a solution, and how to be able to present myself.

Infographic Poster

My capstone deals with film festivals and how they are beneficial to displaying social issues to a community. From this, my info-graphic displays the social benefits of attending and participating in a film festival, as well as statistics of how well an attendant enjoyed and gained information from the festival. More research was needed in completion of my poster. The easiest thing about creating the info-graphic was by the time all the information was gathered it became easier to plan how to properly display the context in an arranged manner. Although, the hardest thing about creating the poster was deciding what color pallet and font to use that would coincide with the information being presented. I created my first info-graphic poster during this spring semester. For the time, my poster has not yet been completed

Infographic

Possible ideas for my info-graphic could be presenting the social benefits of attending and participating in a film festival. I could present this idea through different sections showing the statics of how it benefits an individual, and then a community as a whole.

PSA

My PSA was over the economic benefits of film festivals. I was able to show the benefits by providing factual information from a popular film festival. My facts dealt with providing jobs, tax revenue, tourism, how the city and state overall benefited from hosting the film festival. My PSA did meet the requirements of how long it should be, involving animated text, and having audio over.
If I had more time I would animate the text differently to grab a viewer's attention better. The easiest part of creating the video was recording, the most difficult was finding a way to present the information so the viewer could read everything comfortably.

PSA

PSA article
The article was interesting to me because before I didn't think of PSAs as "advertising". Also the idea of not needing to be creative to produce an effective announcement was interesting. When I see a PSA I always notice how creative the person must have been to make such an effective and inspiring video, but it turns out that the only skill you need is to communicate effectively.

Your PSA :
  • What are the key points you will emphasis
cultural diversity, importance of connecting with the resources in your community
  • What visuals and audio are appropriate
voice over, short clips from other festivals to represent the diversity and community coming together, statistics of benefits it brings to the hosting city or state
  • What type of PSA you will use?
Serious, but uprising and inspiring. Interactive

Capstone Project Statement

The goals of this project is to provide for the community and bring community member closer together through a shared interest. The goal is to create connections, become known, and bring attention to the area.

It is important because this project will affect and help many people in the community. Without it the community members who place themselves in the film business will soon become more disconnected and film within this area will never grow.

These goals fit within my career objective by allowing me to create and form my own connections through the media and cinema world, and allowing me to become closer together with the people who work professionally in the field.

My project gives back to society by allowing people to express themselves or a message through the art of film. It brings together movie lovers and social event goers and allows them to create connections with one another.
